I like to get to know each individual and find out how they learn. From there I can figure out what will work for them and what won't.
I have tutored individuals in grades 1-12 in various subject areas. I have been encouraged to pursue English, Writing, and Journalism as professions because of my talent in each area. A Little Bit About Me...

I always have to assess what my students don't know. I have to create a method of teaching the information to them that they can relate to. After I teach I always ask myself, "What have they learned? How do I know that they have learned it?" I am genuinely rewarded when I see a student succeed. I also understand that our education system is largely driven my standardized tests. I have found in my experience that implementing test taking strategies into my teaching style has proven to set students up for success.

I have always loved working with young people and helping them achieve their potential. I have worked with mainstream and honors students to behavior disorder and severely cognitively impaired youth. I obtained Secondary Teacher Certification in Social Sciences. I taught high school and middle school Spanish for two and half years at public schools, and completed my student teaching at an alternative school for juvenile criminals. I was an at home teacher for my school district when children were out for extended periods due to illness. I have completed additional continuing education in working with gifted and special needs children. I enjoy sharing my passion for learning with others and love to see the “light” come on when a student finally understands a concept.
