I've taught English in India to predominantly Tamil speaking children grades first through sixth. I was also teaching mathematics and science for a semester. I have a lot of experience in the arts. I've done children's theater and worked with high school students in oral interp. Writing is one of my top subjects! The writing process can be a painful one. It can be difficult to even know where to start. Math, Science, Writing, and Critical Thinking

My favorite part about teaching is the moment of sudden understanding that you can see in a student's eyes when they've got it. The challenge, of course, is getting to that moment, especially in a subject like math or science. While certain subjects may come easier to some people than to others, I do not believe that anyone is "incapable" of understanding and excelling in any field of study. If understanding is lacking, that is only because the student needs to be presented the material in a way that makes sense to them.

My comments on tutoring Writing : I have experience in most forms of writing, with most of my experience in persuasive, informational (expository), and scientific writing/research papers. I received an A in every english and writing class I took in college. In high school I took the Language and Composition AP exam and received a 5. On the ACT I received a 12/12 for the essay section, and received a score of R on a scale of J-T on the MCAT writing section.

I have succeeded as a Pre-Med student and psychology major while playing for the University of Colorado D1 women’s volleyball team and thus developed excellent study skills. I have taken and done well on the MCAT and I am applying to medical school in the summer of 2013. I have spent time tutoring my younger brother and many of my teammates and friends in biology, general chemistry, writing/editing, and all psychology fields.
