Speaking is one of my top subjects!

My teaching style is interactive, many of my former students would characterize it as "coaching". I always empower the student to find their way and to have them become "pros" in the learning process. I do not do the work for them, but I show them how they can make their tasks and finishing them more efficient. I am a firm believer in the philosophy that edication is not preparation for life, it is life itself. Experience is key.
Over 13 years of working with students that were not scholars initially. After learning skills to improve their educational/learning experience, they became more scholarly, and enjoyed learning. This is key. They just need to change their perspective, and learn how to make "learning" enjoyable, like it was in kindergarden.

I loved teaching! I think I retired too early because I miss the every day challenges and excitement teaching gives! I have been trained in 4Mat and Gardners Multiple Intelligences. I firmly believe "every child can learn" as long as you teach to their learning style. My daughter is following in my foot steps and will start her first teaching job in September. I truly believe if we show a child we care they can learn anything!
I am a retired school teacher that misses teaching children.I taught in a NJ public School for over 30 years. I actually taught in the same school district I attended as a child. I am patient and encouraging. I have a talent for identifying how people learn. It is important to know what works with people in order to dail into the proper approach. Some people can read and immediately understand. Others need the repetition of hands-on experience. Some need memory tricks like "Mickey Mouse" for spelling "accoMModate" or "seize the weird sheik at your Leisure" for remembering exceptions to the "i-before-e" rule. A Little Bit About Me...

After graduating from high school as valedictorian, I earned a Zoology BS and a Studio Art BA from SUNY Oswego, successfully completing English composition, speech, visual arts, biology, zoology, chemistry, Spanish, and calculus II courses, and graduated with a 3.76 GPA. Prior, I had taken and earned over a 90% in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and AP calculus. While completing an MFA from WCSU, I began 3 years of service as a tutor with NY GEAR UP of The Research Foundation of SUNY, providing academic assistance to students, grades 9-12th in core and non-core subjects, as well as Regents, SAT, and ACT exam prep.
