I love discovering each individual student and the way to help them learn. My goal is to help students become inspired by their subject matter so that it can play a role in their lives as well as their test scores.

I began working with children who were diagnosed with autism my first year of college (I did this for 7 years). I felt a sense of accomplishment as I watched them grow as people. I realized through these experiences that I wanted to help people learn and become accomplished. Later, I decided to student teach in graduate school. I taught three different writing courses over three years, including this past year as a part-time instructor. My style is very application based. I find most students remember material better when they have a story to remember how something works. For instance, explaining how cell biology works and relating lactic acid metabolism to delayed onset muscle soreness. Most students will remember the metabolism pathway better if they tie that relevant information to their daily life (when they go to the gym).
