I believe that a student can learn any subject or topic that they put enough effort into. For some, it is difficult to put in effort into some topics because they think "Oh I'll never get this in a million years!" My focus on tutoring kids is to improve their self-esteem by breaking down examples into smaller pieces and walking through them in a step-by-step manner. It is often that all a student needs to understand concepts are just different examples than what they are presented in class, or the subject matter explained in different terms. A Little Bit About Me...

As a recent college graduate, I feel that I have received the formal training necessary to become a teacher. I have obtained a BS in Early Childhood Education. Over the past two years I have also spent time tutoring elementary school children in the subject of reading, and also spent about 3 months working one on one with various students in a nearby school district.
I believe that all children should receive the extra help that they need. Often time in the classroom, a teacher does not have the time to give the support of the needs of each student in the classroom. With my personality, I love being around children and helping them with any problems whether it be in school or general problems they are going through. Normally, this takes investing time into not only the child, but the family, to see what the kids like and why. When looking back to when I was in school, although I had a natural talent for math I feel that the classes that I did the best in were the ones that the teachers would build a relationship with me.
