A teacher can be extremely knowledgable, but the student must be enabled to learn through motivation and having the material accessible/understandable. I want to make sure the student is on the same page as me, and understands concepts/approaches to learning rather than just memorizing the material.

I love teaching in a hands on style in which the student not only has an algorithm of how to solve a specific problem, but has a thorough understanding of the concepts behind the algorithm. I enjoy having analogies or hands-on activities to demonstrate the concepts. I believe that many times people understand the basic concepts from physics in their daily life, but are frightened by equations. Using analogies or hands-on examples initially reinforces their knowledge and increases their confidence which decreases the fear of equations. Besides reduces fear, it improves their ability to share complex concepts with others in simpler terms.
