A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a voracious love of learning. Every subject in the Humanities held a fascination for me, and to this day, I read two books a week, write, draw, and study educational Psychology. years after my graduation, i earned my Secondary Teacher of English License at Edgewood College. My finance and I moved to Saint Louis, where I was recruited to teach "at risk" Secondary English, ESL, and Reading for the Los Angeles Unified School District. I also worked with them as a Drug IMPACT II Counselor, and gained real insight into Alternative Education. During this time, I tutored several students with Reading Comprehension difficulties. I have earned my Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University, which combined with my Bachelors of Science Degree in Communications gives me, a strong combination to understand and relate to the needs of students. Since receiving my teaching license that has me certified to teach grades 1-8, I have worked as a tutor for middle school students and been a certified classroom substitute in the Madison and Verona school districts.
