I feel that teaching will not only inform young minds to think differently or make them more motivated to learn. But to allow one to master his or her knowledge in general, teaching allows oneself to fully understand the subject in their own minds. Young minds such as children are easily impacted by an adult, which I feel that that should be influenced with positive, enjoyable learning. As a mentor and tutor I have a very hands on style of teaching. I challenge my students with the Upward Bound Program to think outside the norms of their traditional boundaries. I encourage a diverse mind frame and point of view for various subject. Most of all I want my students to see their studies in everyday life and understand how each subject applies on a person level.
