"Brilliant minds, come from Brilliant Instructors"

I am more of the Cooperative learning teaching kind of instructor, I rather have students work together to get something right, rather then them do it alone, it's either paired up work or in groups or working with me.
Been in the teacher preparation program at Nevada State College for about 3 years now, started off in Step-Up program my Junior year of high school, have done some field observation at many schools, and have had to deal with one on one tutoring during the time I was there along with many fellow class mates. In my classes at NSC we have different preparation classes that are preparing us for tasks such as tutoring and handling difficult tasks such as helping students that aren't of the English language to learn in their own way the different techniques that we use.

From having been in the education field for over 10 years, I have come to learn that my teaching style is very much dependent on the learning style of the individual. Introducing young children to language requires a very different set of skills and expectations that teaching freshmen composition at the college level. I think the most important aspect of a teaching style is the ability to judge and modify instruction so that it is suited for the learner, and I always intend to teach the student, rather than just teach the material.

I have always been a dedicated student throughout all of my schooling, from kindergarten up to graduating from a university. I have a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education, and I have worked with students from 3-12.
I believe working one-on-one with students can make a huge difference to help a students make progress. I think learning should be fun, and it can be fun if you go about it the right way. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught elementary school for a total of seven years. One of those years I spent as a Wriiting Coordinator for an Elementary school. I was responsible for ensuring the success of the school's state adopted writing program. In addition, I spent one year as a Technology Coordinator. As a technology coordinator I worked with students in small groups to complete research projects and technology based presentations. Currently I am the Director of Education at Sylvan Learning Center. Sylvan Learning Center is a tutoring service that provides tutoring in many different subjects. I make it my mission to not only teach the material but also to make sure my student has a solid grasp of each lesson. As an education student, I saw many opportunities in that field. I also saw the diversity of learners, and the need for a diversity in the way education is approached. I began to challenge myself by removing limitations like language, and searching for alternative techniques to teaching students of different cultural, socioeconomic, religious and behavioral backgrounds.
