Biology and Chemistry Tutoring

Hello, I am a recent UAB graduate. I graduated May 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with minor's in Psychology and Chemistry. I am currently in the process of applying to dental schools. Although I've had no previous experience as a paid tutor, I often get asked by fellow classmates for help with these sciences. Also I volunteer at an Elementary school in Fairfield, AL through the non-profit organization Better Basics. So I am already accustomed to working/helping younger kids (K-6th) do homework and prepare for tests. My younger brother is a sophomore in high school so I feel capable of helping high school ages as well. As I mentioned earlier, most of my tutoring experience comes from helping fellow college classmates and I am confident I can help you or your child achieve the grades desired, regardless of age.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored students in math and science (mainly math) for over 13 years. I have helped students in various levels of mathematics - basic math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and pre-calculus. After working with me on a consistent basis (2/3 days/week) many of the students have received honors in their math courses, including "Most Improved" and "Highest Average". Admittedly, I have no direct (structured) teaching experience. However, I have nearly five years of experience in the journalism field, and during that time I've mentored a number of fledgling college and high school journalists. And while journalism and political science are my two specialties -- given that I have degrees in both -- I also have a fair amount of expertise in the tangential fields of English and History.
