Hands on- creative-student centered learning!

I think that a lot of learning happens by students being actively engaged in what they are learning. I try to get/make hands on activities for students to learn.

Since then, I have been the "go-to" person in my family for help with math and science. I tutored one of my sisters in her classes at St Charles Community College. Giving a student the answer does not facilitate their learning. My style of tutoring and teaching is to reinforce the basics, ask leading questions and give examples that assist the student discover the correct answers for him or herself.
While substitute teaching various subjects, I discovered my hidden talent – making math understandable for youth. Attending and graduating from Davidson College, a small liberal arts college in NC, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry was an extremely rewarding experience.
