25 years teaching various age groups in mathematics, fitness and martial arts Math subjects include algebra, statistics, calculus, trigonometry, logic, discrete math; I can tutor any math subject in K - Junior year of college. When students turn to tutoring, they often allow the tutor to do their thinking. This is counter productive to learning. A tutor is a coach, as well as, someome who shares their knowledge and skills. I'm known for my patience working with students with foreign-language backgrounds and other disabilities such as a lack of attention and focus. I learned from my professors at Swarthmore College (and a few at Penn) how to project a non-B.S. style, since kids tend to intuitively realize when their teacher has no idea what he/she is talking about. I love children. I love teaching children new things. I have great patience. I love helping children reach their full potential and discover new things.
