I went on to get a Master's Degree in Applied Economics with a specialization in Community and Economic Development and then volunteered with Peace Corps in Costa Rica where I worked with microfinance institutions, helping them to improve the administration of their businesses.
As a Peace Corps volunteer, I learned to adapt my style to the needs of the student, however I like to allow the student to drive the learning activity as much as possible. I also try to incorporate more concrete experiences into the lesson plan as much as possible, combining theory with practice.

My comments on tutoring Economics : Have had limited experience teaching.

My method of tutoring is to work with students where they are and add to their skills, to accomplish the final outcome, preferably an "A" or "B." Some students are visual learners and some are informational learners, or some students combine the two. The potential I see in students is what I try to bring out and have them realize they are capable of going a step further, to reach their goal. The importance of education and the students' continuance of same cannot be stressed enough.
I started out tutoring elementary students in basic math and English grammar while I attended college part time in the 1980's. A Little Bit About Me...

Science is not the easiest of concepts to grasp so in order to enhance student learning I input a bit of humor into my lesson. I am very good at creating analogies to scientific processes and I have seen positive results from this.
