After earning my doctorate in math in 1966, I began teaching at the University of Massachusetts as an assistant professor of math. I was promoted to associate professor in 1972, and continued there until 1977. In 1977 I moved to South Bend to join a Christian community there. I taught part-time at Notre Dame, St. Mary's and IUSB. In 1981 my community started Trinity School, and I taught there from 1981 until I retired in 2007. In 2008 I decided to do missionary work with a group in Indianapolis, and did some tutoring at IUPUI. Last Feb. we moved to Evansville. Last summer I tutored at Ivy Tech .
I work hard at leading students to figure things out for themselves. But if they get too frustrated, I will spell things out more in detail. I love mentoring and teaching to not only children but adults. Everyone has the ability to learn. As a teacher you have to discern the different learning styles from the students and encourage them to apply their individual learning styles to the tasks at hand. I am patient, understanding,and enthusiastic in teaching style. I set obtainable goals for the students and help them execute them. My past experience has enabled me to see that everyone can learn if given the right opportunity. I strive to ensure that all students will succeed.
I am enrolled in the masters program at western kentucky university. Looking to pursue my masters in Arts Adult Education I currently substitute teach for the City of Bowling Green, KY I have been a columist for an interenet magazine I also have experience in being an editor for a company newsletter
