Highly educated Math and Physics Tutor

Took Calculus 1 & 2 in High School with a grade of 100, and all Math and Physics classes in College were the highest grades in the class. I tutored math while in college to strugling math students and helped them get extra instruction which is usually all that is needed to succeed in Math. Ever since I was little I loved helping other people with school. I spent my summer with my aunt teaching English to Spanish speaking natives and my cousins. Even though I can teach well with large groups I have always felt a child learns best one-on-one. It eliminates competition and helps the child develop confidence in himself and the desire to learn. I like to find the area where a child is struggling and come up with a creative fun way that allows them to learn but also the encourages them to continue working on their own when I am not there. I am a college graduate of University of West Florida’s college of Building Construction and Engineering Technology. I have taken calculus 1 through 3, statics, dynamics, strength of materials, thermodynamics and many other math involved courses. I am not a complicated person and like to keep things basic and easy. Math is not hard, it is just simply following an accumulation of rules to get to an answer. Getting the answer to a question may give the big picture of what is trying to be achieved for some, but not for everyone. I can help explain the steps in getting the correct answer for a test and explain the big picture.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching children using hands-on and interactive techniques. I am also a personal trainer in my spare time so I try to incorporate moving into lessons because I think children work well when they can move around and really apply what they are learning to something they really like to do. I use technology constantly in my teaching and have found that my students really apply themselves more when they enjoy the fun that learning brings!
I graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor degree in Elementary Education and then received my Master's degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Educational Technology. I have done extensive work in the technology department at our school and continue to work with SMART products teaching other teachers how to use technology in their classrooms.
