My comments on tutoring Literature : Taught many short stories as well as novels. Tom Sawyer to contemporary stories such as Tuesdays with Morrie.

I believe that the youth are in dire need of adults that have a heart to teach. As a teacher of your child, I want to be able to spend that time as productive as possible. I believe in one on one with a child as the best possible way of learning. In our fast pace world, some students need to have that private time to learn and be influenced through just one adult; that one adult could make all the difference in a child's life. Rather than stressing rote memorization, I believe it is more important to relate overall concepts in a "partnering" style. A Little Bit About Me...

My undergraduate degree and work experience was in criminal justice. Since retiring from the investigative field I have obtained my Masters in Education specializing in literacy and learning in the content areas. I have been teaching full time in South Korea for the last four years. I started out teaching young learners phonics for one year, English conversation to high school students full time for one year. The last two years have been with third through sixth grade elementary students in a public school.
