I love teaching and working with all age groups. I am patient and easy going. I believe all children can learn, but each does so differently. My goal is to find the best way for each individual. This often entails different approaches at times. I provide mainly a constructivist and sometimes "expert" (focus on facts) approach to learning. However, I have found that a variety of styles may be needed to help a student learn. I believe in using a variety of learning materials to help reach students: such as audio, visual or other technology available that may help them be successful. If students have the appropriate atmosphere and materials they need, I believe they will be successful.

A Little Bit About Me...

I attended several schools to achieve my undergraduate degrees, both of which I worked hard to excel at the University level. Attending graduate school at Binghamton University truly prepared me for academia, requiring many research papers and essays as well as honing my knowledge in psychology, the arts, human development, english, and biology. I have tutored, un-officially, all during my college years, forming study groups to better help my peers, as well as having volunteer positions tutoring in math and english.
I love to teach and see the ideas light up the eyes of the person who suddenly got a concept. I think teaching should be adaptable and should fit the learning style of the student. I have my BS in Nuclear Medicine Technology, which permitted me to learn and acquire a great understanding in multiple areas. One of the advantages of my background is the variety of people I have worked with. Regardless of different cultures, races, socioeconomic backgrounds and ages, I have the unique ability to connect with people in a language they understand. I utilize this ability to teach by analogy, as many of the things I teach and tutor others on involve complex subjects that the student usually has no direct experience in.
