A Little Bit About Me...

I attended several schools to achieve my undergraduate degrees, both of which I worked hard to excel at the University level. Attending graduate school at Binghamton University truly prepared me for academia, requiring many research papers and essays as well as honing my knowledge in psychology, the arts, human development, english, and biology. I have tutored, un-officially, all during my college years, forming study groups to better help my peers, as well as having volunteer positions tutoring in math and english.
I love to teach and see the ideas light up the eyes of the person who suddenly got a concept. I think teaching should be adaptable and should fit the learning style of the student. A Little Bit About Me...

One of the advantages of my background is the variety of people I have worked with. Regardless of different cultures, races, socioeconomic backgrounds and ages, I have the unique ability to connect with people in a language they understand. I utilize this ability to teach by analogy, as many of the things I teach and tutor others on involve complex subjects that the student usually has no direct experience in. When not applicable (such as instructing a student in grammar usage), the other method is to encourage students to learn by doing while I coach, encourage, and draw out thoughtful answers along the way.
