Writing is one of my top subjects! As a writer and editor with over 15 years experience writing for online and offline platforms, I expanded my reach to include one-on-one tutoring because of my additional background as a teacher. As a tutor, I work with undergraduate, graduate and international students on all aspects of the writing process. This encompasses brainstorming, outlining, drafting, formatting, topic sentence work, grammar and ESL concerns. My tutees come from all majors including Psychology, Literature, History, and the sciences. I assist with personal statements and research papers, college essays, high school projects, to name a few. My tutoring style is serious yet fun, and I bring a lot of patience and enthusiasm to my tutoring sessions. Students of all ages and abilities, from elementary students with reading difficulties to adult learners of ESL, have benefited from my services. With a background in psychology, I bring the added skill of communicating effectively with my students and quickly understanding their needs. My personality is encouraging, positive and patient, and that has served me well in building relationships with my students. My role is to help the student express their thoughts in a clear, concise manner, use English correctly, and help expand his or her knowledge base.
