A Little Bit About Me...

For almost twenty years, I’ve worked with students as a K-12 as a tutor, coordinator, counselor, and advocate in a variety of educational environments. I am committed to the belief that achieving a good education is the most viable way for students to become productive citizens. In 2006, I returned to college to obtain my bachelor’s degree and by flexing my classes scheduling, earned 83 hours in 6 consecutive semesters and graduated Magna cum laude from Eastern Illinois University in the December 2007. My educational focus was Psychology and Philosophy, alone with writing intensive courses and I am also a twice-published fiction writer and a published poet.

I enjoy working with children and being able to help them grow into well rounded adults. I am very patient and understanding. I realize that each child is special and all children are capable of learning. Each child learns in their own way and teaching not only takes patience, but it also takes creativity. During my first two years of college, I excelled academically, allowing me to qualify as a tutor in algebra, calculus and physics for other college students.
