As a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a BS in Elementary Education, I received my first teaching position as a special education teacher in the Rockford School District, 205. After two years, I moved into a 6th grade position, teaching Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. I received my Master's degree from Walden University in Middle Level Education with areas of concentration in Language Arts and Social Studies. I went on to teach 7th and 8th grade Language Arts. I am Title 1 certified and have 20 additional hours of training in the education field. The description of my teaching style changes with each new class I receive. I am a strong believer in the Multiple Intelligence approach to teaching, as individual students learn in many different ways. As a college graduate, I have earned a bachelor's degree in Economics, with a minor in Statistics. I have 2 years in a professional financial position. Along side of my finance career I assisted a friend of mine in the academia field. I assisted in creating lesson plans, grading papers, writing tests, and team building activities. Throughout my academic career I have always succeeded in math. I have always had a love of numbers and would love the opportunity to share my love and help others. I would greatly appreciate being considered for this position. I would consider my teaching style as hands on. I love to work with children and know that I am giving the confidence to learn. As an active member of my community, in the form of pageantry, volunteering, and leadership, I have always enjoyed instructing others. Currently, I love my job at Midwest Generation as an Instructional Designer of Training. I get to train Engineers and Office Managers on subjects I knew little about, and have grown in responsibility and development. I love kids, since my summer camp instruction job I held all throughout High School as well as an active instructor at my church. I just graduated from Illinois State University about a year ago, and am recently educated and knowledgeable in all subjects, especially English, Social Studies, and Math.
