My comments on tutoring Microsoft Excel : I have a custom-made curriculum for Excel 2010 Basics, which at it's shortest can be crammed into a 30-minute presentation. But it can also be expanded with hands-on activities, new custom lessons, help with your specific Excel needs, and more to customize the experience for your goals and schedule.

I prefer personal and small group teaching, but I can also do online tutoring with Webex. I like to get to know my students and their goals. I can help students set those goals, make plans, and achieve. I have lots of experience creating curriculum materials and lessons, and I try to find a real-life application to each lesson.
My career path has winded around quite a bit but always focuses on computer science and math education. After teaching 2 years at a large public High School, I spent 5 years as a Research Chemist in the pharmaceutical industry. This experience gives me a practical understanding of research and science that I could not have achieved had I limited my career to teaching alone. For the past year I have been teaching at the LPS Science Focus Program where I have greatly diversified my experience. While in teachers college I decided to pursue a degree in Biochemistry to strengthen my content knowledge. Having a science degree in addition to a teaching degree is a definite advantage.

Most of my experience has been as an engineer. I have worked on projects in Europe, Asia, and all over North America. I got involved tutoring high school students while my sons were in high school. Recently, I completed an MA in Education, and taught science and math for about a year and a half in a couple of Louisiana High Schools. I have a broad background for providing real-world examples of implementations of math and science.
