After I graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, I was chosen by the Mayor of Bremerton to teach English in Japan for three years. Upon my return to the United States, I immediately went back to school for my teaching certificate in Elementary Education. A Little Bit About Me...

My first experience instructing young people took place while I was in college, coaching elementary girl’s basketball. This job, which turned out to be amazing and inspiring encouraged me to find a career that would incorporate helping others and furthering my own learning experience. Today, I study secondary education so that I can earn my Master’s degree and go on to teach young people. I spend time in the classroom at the local high school assisting students with their work, and also just interacting with them and showing them that I care. I love the fact that these young people are willing to open up to me and allow me help them in their learning journey.
