Changing The World, One Child AT A Time

I was an assistant teacher to a 3rd grade class at Wilson's Mills Elementary from 2001 until 2003. My duties included assisted the teacher and helping the students in a manner to help them learn at their pace. And I also have an 8 year old son who attends River Dell Elementary. I help him on a daily basis with his homework, which includes math, reading and writing. I love kids and it brings great joy to my life to see the smile on their faces when they learn something new, or figure out the answer to a problem they are working on.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am an n interpersonal teacher. I work with students on a one on one basis. When explaining a concept I am very referential. I also use parallels to help students understand the concepts. I feel that participation and self assertion can be a strong learning tool for students.
I have just recently finished a Masters program in music education at Central Michigan University. I have been teaching, tutoring, and mentoring students for 5 years. A Little Bit About Me...

I have seven (7) years of musical experience in concert band, jazz band, marching band, orchestra, and pep band. I also have tutored through the Boys and Girls Club along with a program my college inacted for students who were hearing-impaired, mostly in the areas of math and grammar. I have also graduated in the top 10% of my class, both in high school and college. I have maintained a 3.0 GPA in both high school and college. My strengths are math and grammar.
I am patient, considerate, and able to adapt to each child's way of learning to be able to help them understand what it is that they are trying to learn. I have taught 14 years teaching in public school system, mostly elementary school. I have taught 5 years in preschool or Montessori preschool. I have experience teaching 2 years in a doctor's office (Vision therapy)I have kept children in my home (home day care) for over 5 years. I worked in a hospital setting for 5 years, clerical work. I have worked with children in my church (AWANA program)
