A Little Bit About Me...

While in graduate school, I acquired teaching experience as I taught a Counseling Theories course to undergraduate students for three semesters. I also taught an experiential counseling microskills course to students enrolled in a school counseling program. I have also provided mentorship for several counseling trainees over the last several years. I feel confident I could provide excellent tutoring services in statistics as I took numerous graduate level courses in statistics and research design. Moreover, given my level of education I believe I could provide more general tutoring services in other fields such as mathematics, english and science.

I have recently begun my pursuit of a Masters in Teaching (MAT). I believe my studies thus far have well prepared me and helped form the teaching strategies I have today. Between my experiences thus far as a tutor and my studies I believe everyone is capable of learning. Not everyone’s learning habits and techniques are the same, which can cause struggles when within a large group. I believe I can meet the personal needs of a student through one on one study and practice. I believe in making the subject relevant to the student and feel that practice is the best way to improve understanding.
