Basically, I use direct teaching method, but I will adjust teaching methods slightly according to student's age, previous learning experience and background.
I am a native Chinese speaker. I teach Mandarin at ICA Language Services and The Washington Language Center. I also tutor students ranging from preschoolers to adult professionals. I teach Chinese to both private individuals and US government officials. I help prepare some students for OPI, DLPT and FSI tests, and satisfy others' casual interests. Besides face-to-face teaching, Skype is also employed for long distance communication.

I think interest in the subject leads to motivation to do well. I try my best to keep the kids interested in the subject by making games and sometimes surprises. I do think that homework I assigned is very important because I believe practice makes perfect.
