I double-majored in biology in chemistry in undergrad, so the field of science and medicine is my first love and my strength. I have also received a Masters of Public Health Degree in Epidemiology, and have since completed my 2nd year of medical school. I have always had a strong affinity for math and english as well. I have a published thesis paper that was constructed and presented as required for my masters curriculum. Anatomy is one of my top subjects! Have had both undergraduate and medical school level of education related to anatomical science including cadaver lab. Have tutored first year med students as well as undergraduates. Have performed hundreds of surgeries as a surgical resident.

Having fun is a requirement. Learning in an environment where stress is taken out of the equation is paramount to retention of knowledge and key to success. I utilize anecdotal methods to convey concepts so that a student can relate the knowledge to how it fits into their own life or past experience.I try to get around rote learning when possible. However, when pure memorization is unavoidable, I have methods to incorporate that are tried and true and still hinge on the foundation of using anecdot. See one, do one, teach one is also another way I like to use. The student sees/learns, then does/uses what they've learned, and finally teaches the information back to me and/or someone else. I also volunteered for 2 years mentoring underprivileged Junior HS students. I continued to teach and tutor when I entered grad school.
