I love teaching and helping students to grasp the basic understanding behind physics and math. Since physics and math can build on itself, it is important you understand the basics before you can proceed to advanced concepts. I believe students learn by different styles whether it be visually, audibly, written, or hands on. It's important to apply this style early. I am a very patient person. I will not give answers and do the work for the student. Rather I help guide and lead students to answer, that way they learn the technique and apply their own critical thinking and problem solving skills. My experience has taught me that all children can learn, but often in different ways. Finding the mode of learning for each student is the key. I try to find different ways to present the information until the child understands. It is also important to review and practice in order to reach the learning goal. I am a patient teacher and respectful of each student.
Most of my teaching experience has been in classrooms with students from the toddler stage through 6th grade. My favorite areas to teach are phonics, reading, and elementary math. However, in the passed five years I have tutored pre-school age through adults in many areas, and homeschooled all areas in elementary and middle school. I also taught English as a second language. I love guiding a student through some difficult or misunderstood content and getting the "ahha!" of understanding at the end.
