Elementary School Tutor (2nd grade teacher)

I have been working with children for about 4 years. I am currently working on my Masters in Elementary Education, and am a 2nd grade teacher in Austin. This is my first year of teaching. I was an intern in a kindergarten classroom, and student taught in 3rd grade. My resume is available upon request.
It is my opinion that every child has the ability to learn and be successful, but not every child is going to do that in the same way. My comments on tutoring Elementary Vocabulary : I have always prided myself on having a fairly vast vocabulary. It took me a while to understand just how complex and expansive the English language is. That can be daunting for a young child just starting to read and write.

I don't any paid, professional tutoring experience. However, I have volunteered my services to family members and friends. During my sophomore year, I took Organic Chemistry and excelled. However, my friends were struggling. They hated me a bit for how easy it came to me. I decided to tutor them and help them with homework assignments and studying. They ended up doing very well on the exams, allowing them to secure a 3.0 or higher in the course. I also had to regular help my classmates out with more complex problems in Physics. I was not so much tutoring as working together with them on the homework, but still, it involved clear explanation and a thorough knowledge of the subject matter.

I have tutored over 50 children and teens, ages 3-14, in various subjects. With my youngest students, I have helped them improve their reading comprehension and ability markedly. My older students have been teens preparing for college, and as I have done extremely well on my SATs and ACT (scores can be supplied upon request), I have been able to help them improve in that field as well.
