A Little Bit About Me...
My teaching style varies depending upon the needs of the child. I am patient and aware of many students’ stress around math. My goal is to improve each student’s basic understanding and confidence and to increase her or his enjoyment of learning. I select from a variety of approaches to any math idea or problem, and try to find helpful analogies, visualizations, and connections to what a student already knows. I teach effective problem-solving strategies. I have much experience with using computers for learning math and science, and I like to offer interested students opportunities to work with math-related software, to create math-rich computer programs, and to design and carry out computer-based “lab experiments”.
