The best way for to students to learn is by making them participate. It is not just a matter of giving lectures and tests. It is a matter of involving them also in the lectures.

More About This Tutor...

Though I have one more semester before graduating, I have completed all of my coursework in Philosophy and all but one course in both my Mathematics and History of Science minors. Finally, I am well-versed in Mathematics, being just one course shy of a minor. I have maintained perfect grades through Calculus IV and keep up with that knowledge regularly.
I have tutored non-professionally for some time. Doing so has provided me with experience with a variety of students ranging from the first grade level to college freshman. I cater accordingly to each level of student, always exercising patience and approaching topics from multiple angles. I understand that some students a ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

After graduating with a 4.0 from the University of Oklahoma, I began my graduate work in mathematics. As a G.A., I had the experience of teaching and tutoring at the college level. During the past two years, I have taught 10 sections of miscellaneous classes, covering 5 different courses. Over the course of the past two years, I've easily had over a hundred hours of tutoring time. In addition to my two math degrees and minor in religious studies, I also have a good background in music theory, piano, and organ. I play for two separate churches each Sunday and have previously given lessons.
Teaching is a means to find a student's misconceptions and correct them. I try to do this by engaging the students in conversation, asking them leading questions, or watching them work.
