Hello! My name is Payton and I am currently a student at Illinois State University. I am studying to get my bachelors in Special Education - Learning and Behavior Specialist. I am currently a junior and will be graduating in Spring of 2024. Once I graduate, I will be certified to teach k-12 grade Special Education. I currently have my Associate in Arts from College of DuPage as well. I have worked with children of all ages throughout my high school and college career. As a student-athlete at Illinois State University, I learned many invaluable skills. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Physics as well as minors in both Mathematics and Exercise Science. Earning this degree as well as two minors has allowed me to gain a large amount of knowledge in both science and math. Being a student-athlete also taught me great leadership, hard work, teaching and time management skills. In my final year at Illinois State University, I taught a physics lab course. I have a very strong level of education and experience in accounting and finance. I have a BS in Accountancy at the University of Illinois and passed the CPA as well. In addition to the insurance designations of FLMI, FFSI and AIAF, I also passed the Series 7, 27 and 63 exams and was a broker/dealer Financial and Operations Principal for several years. Most recently I was an Investment Accounting Manager for an insurance company. My teaching experience is fairly limited. Last year I was a paid chess coach for K-8 and plan to continue to do that. I have also helped as an Awana leader and VBS leader at church.
