It is a team effort! I believe one on one tutoring sessions is an effort between tutor and student to honor and respect each other by making the most of the time. Preparation is key! Being prepared to learn is holistic and involves the mind, body and spirit to be open to receive information and process it. I promise to bring all of the above to each of my students including a professional attitude. I love teaching and tutoring children and adults. A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with children. I believe they all have the potential to be great at whatever they choose – sometimes they just need that extra hand- and that is what I can offer. I am patient, easy going, kind and encourage laughter. My goal is to engage children in the things they are naturally interested in and to make learning fun.
I am currently involved in the public school system as a Literacy Tutor for grades k-3. I have earned a BA in Journalism and English and have decided to continue on to pursue my Masters degree in Education. I have been trained in specific reading strategies that can help improve fluency, phonemic awareness, and phonics; as well as vocabulary and text comprehension.
