Mechanical Engineering Tutors & Teachers for Lessons, Instruction or Help in Lewis Center, OH

While at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh I worked as a tutor in Mathematics and Shop. Much of the time the students did not have an adequate education in high school, so it was necessary to start from scratch. My other duties were to fabricate office equipment and search out tutorials to better explain concepts to struggling students. Depending on the student I often start from scratch with analogies, diagrams, online tutorials, and simple practice on scratch paper. Usually students will get it after a few sessions, but there are many students that have to be tutored on a constant basis. I teach that effort is necessary for success. A positive attitude is good, but only if it is an afterthought of repetitive practice and focus. I would not tell a student "you can do it" if I knew they could not. Instead we would work together until they could do it.

I enjoy teaching and working with all of todays youth. My main joy is teaching science and math since they are the foundation of all engineering principles which makes society go forward everyday. I believe teaching should be one that uses the childs minds in discovery and actual examples. Graduated from wright state university in 1993 with a bachelors of science degree in mechanical engineering. I have worked the past 16 years in the automotive industry mainly as a manufacturing supervisor. Also, since high school have volunteered abd served on 2 fire departments as a firefighter and emergency medical technician. I enjoy teaching young adults the education and work experiences I have obtained the past 20 years.

I would to teach math because I have been applying math my entire life. I have a four year degree in mechanical engineering technology. I have used math extensively in my everyday job. The last sixteen years I have used math to figure out complex equations. My problem solving skills are good. I teach my kids math and reading. I love teaching my two young children. I believe I can teach other children. I am a hard worker with a never give up attitude. I believe I can get the desired results for all kids. I can motivate and tell them some of my great experiences.

I am presently working as a substitute teacher. I am certified to teach mathematics in 7th to 12th grades. I have recently passed the Praxis II tests to teach science in 7th to 12th grades. I teach almost every day and I usually teach math or science classes. Previously I worked as an engineer. During this time I mentored and trained new engineers. I became interested in teaching while I was working at Delphi Automotive. I trained my own staff while I was there. I have chosen to be a teacher because I believe I can make learning fun for my students. I like to relate subjects to each other so that students can see how everything is actually intertwined.
