Friendly tutor (2 yrs experience in IT industry)

Friendly
I had two years of experience at IT industry. Prior to that i have a great knowledge in mathematics.i did work as an assitant for my inter level math tutor. I am more interested in teaching maths rather any other subjects. I am good all over my acedamics and scored 99 percent in my 10th grade. I always love to solve puzzels and want to help others by teaching. So i choose teaching even at my work with a software company. I enjoy taking to people and help making the choices.

My comments on tutoring Algebra II : I consistantly use this in my field

As a graudate student I was a held a postion as a Graudate Research Assistant for the Geotechnical Lab. As such I taught undergraduate students the theory behind laboratory test, what each test provides the engineer and how to conduct the test. Furthermore I assisted undergraduate students with homework problems and helped them prepare for tests.
I am very hands on. I like to first show how a problem is done, discuss the purpose of each step and then the student work the problem. From there I prefer to have students work problems and ask questions as they come up. After each problem is complete I then review the problem with the student.

Based on my experience, I believe that anyone has the capability to learn and expand their knowledge on a subject - if they put the work in. My goal is for my students to begin to "learn how they learn" so they can develop the self-confidence to begin solving problems on their own. I facilitate student growth by assessing strengths and weaknesses, focusing on problem areas, and improving problem solving s ... read more

The most important thing to remember when teaching a child new concepts is patience. All children learn skills in different ways. Some catch on quickly, others need more time. Even the way in which you demonstrate how a problem is solved can make a difference. I usually try several methods for solving problems rather than insist that they learn the traditional methods only. The little bit of extra time spent giving them the optional techniques could make a world of difference in their educational success.
As a parent of two school-aged children I have had the oppurtunity to learn about the newest teaching methods employed by teachers at this time. We often work together on math and science. I love helping people, love math and all sciences. Always trying different ways and methods with patient when I'm doing the job of tutoring. Always recognize what type of problems they have, whether it's academically or personally. When I tutor, I try not to tell students the answer, rather, tell them how to get the answer, give them some starting steps, describe the steps in a different problem so they can work out the answer by themselves and learn the way. I always trying to be friends with the students, care about their lives so that they will trust me and make the whole tutoring experience much more enjoyable and effective for both of us.
