I am an 15 year IT professional, the last 3 with the University of Iowa. I also have 6 years of chemical/biologincal operations and technical writing experience with Abbott Laboratories and SC Johnson Wax. Schooling includes a BS in Business/MIS with a minor in English and an MBA with concentration in International Business and Finanace. I am preparing to begin a PhD program in Business, and have scored a GMAT of 770 in 2005 and a GRE of 1330 in 2010.
My primary goal is to help students understand the "why" of studies. "Why" do we look for differentials in calculus? "Why" do we describe imagery in poetry instead of just saying how we feel? I earned both my Masters' and Bachelors' degrees with honors from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. During my academic I learned to excel in everything I do, which help me master the accounting knowledge I have today. While at SIUC, I was also involved in many student organizations such as Beta Alpha Psi, Accounting Society, and NABA. I was the tutoring chair for Beta Alpha Psi for two years and have acquired very good teaching skills. The Director of the School of Accountancy will be a good reference when you need one.
My teaching style is sample: Bringing the topic to the student understanding level and be positive about it.
