During the last twelve years I have worked within the public school system in both Arkansas and Florida. Between 1998 and 2000 I worked as a substitute for the Cabot School District. Between the years of 2000 and 2005 I worked with the Special Education teacher at Landmark Elementary in Little Rock, AR to ensure student achievement. In 2005 I moved to Ocala, FL and worked for the Hammett L. Bowen Elementary until June 2010. While in the district I was able to complete my ESOL certification as well as work with special education students in a full inclusion setting. Though I am certified to teach all subjects, my fields of expertise are in the areas of math, science, and language arts.

My first priorty to assist students in learning is developing a positive relationship with them, and then try to identify their strengths and weaknesses. From that point I can then begin to provide assistance and correction. One of the secrets or truths to student achievement is building their confidence and establishing high self-esteem traits toward achievement in that particular subject area.

I graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a double major in Psychology and Philosophy. I also received a minor in Interdisciplinary studies through the Honor's College at UCA. I wrote several different research papers in Psychology, excelled in critical thinking and symbolic logic courses in philosophy, and also completed an undergraduate thesis through the Honor's college. I would be able to improve any child's critical thinking and writing skills. I completed my Bachelors of Science by taking math courses my senior year and would also be able to tutor any math classes, except for calculus. I love watching children's eyes light up from learning and this is what I strive for with every teaching moment. I know that children become discouraged when they do not acquire the skills other students seem to master almost immediately. I know that parents become equally discouraged when they want their child to succeed but do not know how to help them do so. I received my BS in Environmental science in 2007 and minored in chemistry.Environmental science- biology track requires to have numerous biology courses.
