I am the mother of 3 children and an elementary education teacher. Currently I am teaching 2nd grade but I've been teaching for 5 years and have experience in grades k,1, 2, 3 and 5. I've also had substitute and tutoring experience with grades k-12. I have experience with special needs both through my own children and within the classroom. In addition to a Bachelor's Degree I have 6 additional credit hours towards my Master's Degree and am currently enrolled in a 3 hour course. As a music graduate of Morehead State University, I was very much driven to achieve a level of excellence in education. I earned my BS is Music Education and have completed additional coursework required for re-certification. I have substiute taught many classes and did a long term position teaching 6th grade science. I enjoy watching students learn and to see them grow in knowledge and their ability to solve various challenges as they mature. i try to set an example for the students to emulate by letting them know I was at their age at one time, and that I needed help along the way as well.

I first gained experience as a tutor as a senior at Westminster College where I volunteered as a science tutor in the college's learning center. I spent my time tutoring students in the subjects of biology and chemistry. I graduated as valedictorian of my High School Class with a 4.0 GPA. I also graduated with a 4.0 from Westminster College in 2003. As a fourth year medical student I have a GPA of 3.98 and am ranked number two (2) in my class. I feel confident that I would be able to assist any student in the sciences.
