My comments on tutoring English ESOL : I have spent the past 11 years as a language teacher and am currently completing my practicum to earn certification from a well-respected ELL certification program at University of Missouri-Columbia
I have spent the past eleven years instructing students in the area of language--both English and Spanish. I have taught at the high school level almost exclusively, but I am flexible to work with any students levels k-12. Students would characterize me as a teacher who cares about their past, their present and their future. I provide them with the skills they need to enter into a highly competitive world.
In the classroom, I use a combination of cooperative learning, comprehensible input, teaching through music, functional grammar, teaching reading skills in the target language and scaffolding instruction to meet the needs of all my students.
