Teaching is in my blood. Nothing thrills me more than the light I see in a student’s eyes as he or she understands a concept for the first time. I enjoy teaching in a small group setting or one on one. I like to set goals and learning objectives based on the individual student’s needs and learning style. I am flexible and patient as I teach. Some students remember best what they see, some what they hear, but nearly all will best recall material that they see hear say and do something with. My teaching style is one that tries to incorporate seeing, hearing, saying, and doing and getting students to use higher order thinking skills as much as I can. More than just rote memory and recall, I want then to be able to apply acquired knowledge to solve problems or create new ideas based on their previous learning.
