Bringing Out The Potential In Students...

My method of tutoring is to work with students where they are and add to their skills, to accomplish the final outcome, preferably an "A" or "B." Some students are visual learners and some are informational learners, or some students combine the two. The potential I see in students is what I try to bring out and have them realize they are capable of going a step further, to reach their goal. During the session I encourage the student's learning by asking open-ended questions to encourage critical thinking. With writing assignments, the pen is always in the student's hand and, with guidance, the student makes choices about his or her writing. I went to public schools in East Detroit, Michigan. In eighth grade I set a personal goal to attend the University of Michigan. I never had private tutors. My strongest subject is math.
