Kind and patient tutor for math, science & computing.

Patient, relaxed, friendly. Able to translate concepts into different scenarios in order to help the student grasp the concept.
Although not degreed in math, science or computers, they were my favorite subjects. More importantly, I am gifted in communicating concepts into terms my students understand and grasp. Repetition doesn't equate to learning, it's a component, it's a way to practice, but it is not how the mind grasps the concept. Experienced Mathematics Tutor

I worked as a tutor in the Math Learning Center at Michigan State University for 3 years, and was also a teaching assistant for a precalculus for a semester while attending MSU. I have a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Michigan State, and have completed a semester of student teaching and graduate certification courses in teaching mathematics.
I like to use what the student already knows to prompt them forward into discovering how to complete the problem at hand on their own with guidance. I was a substitute teacher in California and Michigan during the 2000's. I also had my own high school level classroom in California for two school years. I was hired on an "Emergency Credential" because I had my BS but no teaching credential. I was laid off due to budget cuts in June of 2003.
