A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from CSU Fresno with a BA in Chemistry and a BS in Biology. Since then, I have been a substitute teacher for two months for elementary school grades k-8. For the las year I have been a substitute teacher for the Tulare Joint Union High School District. Although I have subbed for many subjects, I specialize in both math and sciences. I have subbed long term for two weeks for Calculus BC and Precalculus, long term for three weeks for Chemisty, and long term for Algebra 1 for eight weeks. I have also subbed often for Geometry and Algebra 2, and am frequently requested by the math department chair at Tulare Union.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have known that teaching is my calling since I was a Freshman in high school. Learning how everything works has always facinated me and sharing that has been equally rewarding. I believe that learning can be fun when it is relevant and interactive. Students have to be given a vested interest in the learning process, asked questions. An environment of trust in which student's inquiry is encouraged is the best way of learning. Moreover, I thing that teachers have to use complementing mediums for teaching (ie. I began tutoring during my senior year of high school as a favor for a family friend. I soon realized the demand for private tutoring services and began taking it more seriously. While attaining my Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry, I would frequently tutor friends who needed extra assistance. Years of laboratory experience allowed me to gain an understanding of scientific writing styles, and to expand my writing and researching techniques.
