I am currently an intervention specialist for students in grades 5-8, specializing in reading content and reading strategies. Last year, I taught students in the fifth grade, focusing in the scholastic areas of mathematics, reading, language arts, science and social studies.I was assisting students in an inclusion setting with some pull out resource room interventions. This past summer, I was excited about the opportunity I have been given to expand my teaching experiences through working with students with learning, behavioral, and emotional disorders. A Little Bit About Me...

I have received degrees in Int'l Business from Lourdes College, as well an Associates Degree in Accounting from Owens Community College. While with the Ohio Air National Guard, participated in the Mentoring program with Township Elementary, Swanton Local Schools for five(5)-years. I enjoyed working with the students, helping those that needed a little extra attention. I enjoy reading, writing, learning new words, learning period. Math, science, grammer, writing, civics, are all areas where our future need some help and I want to help make a difference. This is a serious problem for us as a society and a nation. I love working with a diversity of students. My main goal is to assist students in achieving their academic goals. I modify the curriculum according to their needs. I am very patient, friendly,and enthusiastic. It is quite easy for me to build a trusting relationship with my students. I have worked both in the public and private school settings. I prefer one on one tutoring which is what I did mostly in the private school setting.
I have earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education. I also have 33 hours beyond my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction. My lastest certificate was achieved a month ago in the Orton-Gillingham Reading, Writing, and Spelling course designed to assist students with these particular learning difficulties.
