Once in a classroom I realized that I was meant to teach. I love working with students who are challenging and those who challenge me. I believe that I can become a better teacher only by continually challenging myself and my students. The key phrase “engaging students” seems less than what is required in the classroom. I want my students to be engaged but I want them to encompass and enjoy what they are doing as well. I love technology and new method topics; I have a very strong math and science background as well as excellent written and verbal presentation skills. I was a hands on learner and often use hands on methods to teach when possible. I have taught every level from kindergarten to college level and feel comfortable doing so.

A Little Bit About Me...

It is my goal that the efforts of students produce more then just good grades. I assess their needs, the way they think, and what ends they may apply what they’re learning so that I may adapt my teaching style. In this way, I can help students engage in the material in such a way that the knowledge that they receive is important and applicable to their lives now or beyond high school. To this end, I have, in the past, used teaching methods designed for different types of intelligences, examples of relevant modern applications, historical examples and stories, and designed new methods for teaching students who do not respond to practiced methods.

Born as a Chinese national and I speak fluent Chinese Mandarin language and I studied Business in Accounting and graduated from SUNY Brockport in 1990 and my mathematical course I always get "A" on my grade (I even get 105 on my test score, believe it or not) and I still love math. Therefore I can tutoring not only business in Accounting and also Math or language in Chinese.
I enjoy teaching one on one more then in a group class setting and I do enjoy teaching individual more then in a group setting. I do wish to teach "Chinese" as a personal language when I retire in the future if we don't have SS since I am a baby boomer (hope this is not true)
