I have 11 yrs experience teaching in a California high school setting and 5 years experience as a tutor for ESL and for French at OSU, 3 years experience teaching English in France and lived in France for 7 years. I also have taken many students to France on EF Tour trips. I have advised French clubs for 12 years.
I use a variety of methods, some TPR, traditional, CLT, Natural Approach, some immersion, audio - lingual. I am always looking for fun ways to teach and I feel that students learn so much easier when their teacher is as enthused as they are about learning the language.

I like to teach using examples, either on a board to show a person step by step first. Then try to give the student examples to try to solve themselves. If this does not work I continue to breakdown a problem until we can clearly identify where the student is having trouble.
I have helped tutor friends’ kids on math from little school to high school. I have taken math all the way up to Differential equations and feel alright tutoring up to calculus one. I do not possess documented experience from schools or other organizations. I am a very highly motivated individual that does not mind helping others. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is very versatile. I think the best way to teach is to first assess the areas that need the most work, and then devise a simple, logical approach to help the student understand the material. Some students learn visually, others learn by repetition. It takes a lot of adaptation to make sure the student really grasps the ideas.
I was the salutatorian of my high school class. I excelled in every subject, and was a member of the tutoring club. I also tutored my cousin, who has Down Syndrome, helping him with his summer school work, including literature, handwriting, math, and Spanish. I majored in Art at the Pennsylvania State University. I also took many different courses in Art and Art History, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and photography.

French was my favorite subject in school and it definitely is my passion. I now use French daily in my career but when I first started taking it in high school, I had no idea how far it would take me. I would very much like to impart the wisdom and skills that I have learned to other students and help them achieve their goals.
