My teaching style is very patient, kind, and laid back. I believe that everyone has the potential to learn and finish the work they are given, so I very rarely tell someone how to finish a problem or correct a sentence. Instead, I give suggestions of things to think about and ask a lot of questions so that the student can get to the answer themselves. I will gladly point them in the right direction but hesitate to ever point to the answer as I feel the lesson is very easily lost. I see a power in one-on-one teaching/learning and therefore have a great appreciation for tutoring.
A large part of earning my B.A. in Business Management consisted of writing reports and papers for everything from English to Market Research. A Little Bit About Me...

Raised in a disadvantaged social-economic environment, I sought success by joining the military; traveling and learning about the world. Upon my retirement I decided to give back by bringing the diversity of the world into the classroom. I graduated college cum laude and served as the President, International English Honor Society; Sigma Tau Delta. My degree in English Literature provides many levels of the written word by allowing for the understanding of differences that is desired and required by the individual learner. I teach all aspects of the curriculm, with emphasis on grammatical skills. During my last long-term position my students increased their state reading and writing scores by over 7%. I love working with children on every level but especially younger children. I believe all children can grow through proper placement and necessary steps of encouragement.
