A Little Bit About Me...

As I mentioned in the above paragraph, I meet the child where they are in their learning style. I can adapt to how they learn best and then use different activities and tools to again, "drive home" the concept of what the child may be struggling with. I love teaching anything!
When I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in 2002, I accepted a job at a small school in upstate NY that needed a PE teacher. I quickly learned to just relax and "go with the flow" of how the students learned the material and what kind of different activities that we could do to "drive home" the concept of what we were studying. I also learned to be very flexible. I wore many many different hats that first year of teaching which has given me to experience I needed in my recent years of teaching. I am passionate about sports, athletics, history and teaching as a whole!

I student taught in a kindergarten classroom. I had two different classes and they were all different. They were all on different levels and I needed to figure out were they all were. I implemented and maintained custom code for a number of clients, and I performd lead programmer functions and mentor others. Every few months I conducted "lunch and learns" for programmers and analysts. During these sessions I would describe what code was doing in a particular module. This would help them with their implementations.
I like to first show a basic example of the problem, then show how the problem can be solved. I will then show another example that is a little more involved. After this, I let the person being mentored try solving a similar problem.
