A Little Bit About Me...

As a Mass Communications student, I work very close with reading and writing for radio and television. I'm currently in college at Wright State University, graduating in 2010. In this major, writing papers is important, so reading and writing are major especially with presenting. In my background of working with students, I have worked for the Wittenberg University Upward Bound program for 3 years as a tutor counselor, after being a student for 4 years.
I have worked with students for 3 years, so it's interesting to see how they learn differently. I believe that learning is unique, so being creative in making memory stay is a positive with me. As a teacher, accountant, mother of 4, I have seen so many changes in education. Thank goodness, we are looking more at the student as an individual than as a cookie cutter kid. One size does not fit all. My passion, is to instill the love of reading into all children, as I did with my own, and as I try to with my high school students. Reading is the base of all education. If a student struggles here, it will show in all classes. I use a method where I find out exactly where a student is in his reading, and through running records, I can show him where he seems to be struggling.
