Painting is one of my top subjects! Over the years I have created works of art using nearly every type of paint and painting technique available. My two favorite ways to paint are with watercolors and digitaly through the use of computer programs like adobe photoshop.

I have been drawing and creating art for a long as I can remember and it has always filled me with joy and been a true passion in my life. Now, with a BFA in Fine Art, and three plus years working in the commercial art field I have turned this passion into a career choice. Being a traditionally trained illustrator, who has worked professionally in the commercial art field, allows me to have a unique perspective on art and art teaching. To put it simply, I like to blend the old with the new. My traditional training provides me with knowledge of every classical medium, from graphite and charcoal to oils, paints and watercolors. My comments on tutoring Painting : I worked for 3 years painting custom design and replications of needlepoint templates for a boutique on Newbury Street in Boston. I also have been building my portfolio of nature prints and paintings to show and sell. I am comfortable teaching all mediums including mixed media.

I go as fast or as slow as the student needs. I encourage students to try new techniques and ideas so they are self-aware of the process and learning experience that leads to self-improvement and development.
During the school year, I work as a curriculum coordinator and art teacher for an after school program in Lexington, Ma. This is my 6th year of teaching stimulating and unique art projects to children in grades K-5. I have interned as a graphic designer and also had jobs as a wedding photographer. During the summer, I work as an assistant director to a summer enrichment program in Winchester, Ma. Outside of work- I am a member at large of the Boston Guild of Puppeteers, and also work on my own art which includes building my portfolio of paintings to show and sell, as well as complete small digital photography jobs.

I recently graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with two bachelor's degrees. One degree is in Spanish and I consider myself completely fluent, especially having spent a semester in Costa Rica. During this time I volunteered at a school teaching students ages 5 through 18 English at different levels. My other degree is in Social Thought and Political Economy which required a lot of writing, generally 15 to 25 page papers per class.
